    Call for Nominations

    Lake View Credit Union is seeking nominations for its board of directors. The nomination period will be January 15th, 2025 to February 15th, 2025. Nomination forms are available online and at all branches. Lake View Credit Union is governed by 7 Directors whom set the strategic direction and ensure the long term success of our Credit Union for our Members.

    Background Skills and Qualifications

    The skills and qualifications that would be considered assets include, but are not limited to:

    • Regulatory experience
    • Legal knowledge
    • Information technology familiarity
    Other Skills that Enhance the Board
    • General knowledge that would include a dedication to learning and communities in the region.
    • Financial knowledge that includes understanding and analyzing complex and detailed financial statements and advanced business performance.
    • Representation from various areas throughout the Peace Region to ensure that members from all communities are represented.
    Available 2025 Board Positions

    There are 3 Directors seats up for election in 2025. All are for three year terms. The following incumbents have indicated that they plan to seek re-election

    • Darren Hamre

    If you are interested in seeking a seat on our Board, please request a nomination package. These are available upon your request at any one of our 3 branches.

    Voting will commence March 10th, 2025 and end March 14th, 2025 at 5:00 pm. Voting will be available electronically 24hrs/day during the voting period. In addition, we’re available to assist you with online voting at all 3 branches during business hours. Branch locations are as follows:

    • Dawson Creek: 800 102nd Avenue, Dawson Creek, BC
    • Chetwynd: 5060 N Access Road, Chetwynd, BC
    • Tumbler Ridge: 2450 Main Street, Tumbler Ridge, BC

    Notice of Annual General Meeting
    & Special Resolution Vote

    DATE: April 15th, 2025 at 6:00pm

    LOCATION: Co-op Mercer Hall in the Ovintiv Events Centre
    (1-300 Hwy 2, Dawson Creek, BC)

    One of the most important privileges of Membership is the casting of your vote.

    Lake View Credit Union and the Board of Directors must act in accordance with the Credit Union’s Rules. The Rules are regularly reviewed by the Board of Directors and any resulting changes must be approved by the membership by way of a Special Resolution vote.

    The Board of Directors are recommending changes to Lake View Credit Union Rules for members to vote March 10, 2025 to March 14, 2025. Please review the links below to learn more about the proposed rule changes, rationale for the significant changes, and to familiarize yourself with the Special Resolution you will vote on the week of March 10, 2025 electronically and at the AGM April 15th, 2025 by ballot.

    Voting will take place starting at March 10, 2025 and ending at March 14, 2025

    ELIGIBILITY

    Clarification of eligible voters.

    All Members in good standing, are eligible to vote in the proposed Special Resolution.

    For the purpose of this vote, the membership list will be closed as of March 10, 2025. Any person/s becoming a member of the Credit Union after that date is not eligible to vote.

    Members can only vote once in the Special Resolution Vote.

    Members in good standing who were members of the Credit Union as of March 10, 2025 are entitled to vote with the following exceptions:

    • Junior members (person under 19 years of age) are not entitled to vote.
    • Unincorporated organizations, associations or societies are not entitled to vote.
    • In a joint membership: both the Primary Member & Secondary Member/s may vote providing there is sufficient Membership Equity Shares to cover all individuals on the account and providing they are a member in good standing.
    • A corporate member may authorize a person who is not a member of the Credit Union to vote on their behalf.
    • A corporate member is one which has been incorporated or registered under the Company, Cooperative Association, Society, Business Corporations Acts or other statue creating the Company as a legal entity. At least one signing authority on the account must sign the form. *Designation of Representative letter” by contacting Selina Lajeunesse: slajeunesse@lvcu.ca or calling 250.784.3297. The company’s delegate will be provided voting credentials upon completion of Designation of Representative letter.

    A member in good standing is someone who:

    1. has purchased, fully paid for and holds a condition of membership – twenty-five (25) Membership Equity Shares for personal membership or
    2. has purchased, fully paid and holds a condition of membership – twenty-five (25) Membership Equity Shares for Corporate memberships
    3. is not more than ninety (90) days delinquent in any obligation to the Credit Union

    All members in good standing are automatically registered to vote in the election.
